A Fun Weekend

Matt and I were a little sad thinking about this weekend knowing we were missing the Almond Blossom festivities (and nice weather) in Ripon, but those feelings didn't really last too long. Matt finished exams and his last paper late Wednesday night. He had a few days off before 3rd quarter classes start, so we headed to Chicago Thursday morning. We had a fantastic time with our friends John and Anne and their kids. We didn't have much on the agenda as far as outings, so we were able to really reconnect with them and spend lots of good time together talking, reminiscing, dreaming, and watching kids. We enjoyed some fabulous food, too! Anna had a blast playing with Ella's and Tristan's toys and running around their house.

There's always time for lots of book-reading. I got to read to the girls, and Tristan even took a turn reading to Anna.
What's a good break from school without a little Guitar Hero? We even got the kids in on it! Anna loved all the attention. John loved cuddling with (and tickling) her. He's getting ready for their 3rd child to arrive in about 6 weeks.
Matt and John were out in the cold checking the delicious turkey we enjoyed for lunch today. We had a really fabulous time with good friends! Anna is going to miss being with her friends tomorrow! (And I heard the weather wasn't all that great for the parade in Ripon!)
