2 Year Check Up

Anna had her 2 year check up with her doctor today. We've been reading library books to prepare her and she did pretty well. She's a big talker at home, but tends to clam up around others until she warms up to them. It took her just a little while to start talking to the doctor and showing off her doll. She seemed pretty interested in what the doctor was doing to her during the examination, but Anna would not open her mouth and say "aah" when the doctor asked. We'd practiced that at home, but she just didn't want to open her mouth. She was a little offended, then, when Dr. Kort used a tongue depressor to open her mouth and look inside.
Later, the nurse took a little blood from her toe (to check for lead) and gave her one shot. Anna was very brave and didn't cry at all. Best of all, she came home wearing 2 bandaids! Actually, best of all was the Mickey Mouse sticker she got upon leaving. In case you're interested, Anna weighs 27.4 pounds and is 35 1/4 inches tall. Our little girl sure is growing up!
